This foundation course provides an understanding of the core elements of TCP/IP networking.
Students learn the five basic types of networking equipment and how they are physically interconnected. Students get a thorough grounding in the necessary basics including the fundamentals of TCP and IP packet technology and associated address resolution techniques such as ARP, DNS and DHCP.
This solid foundation is then used as a basis for more general subjects including basic network management, network architecture, routing and switching.
Audience: Individuals with little or no networking knowledge.
