This session will focus on why a wireless site survey is necessary for all medium to large wireless LAN and wireless broadband installations. The relevance of Site Surveys to business requirements and how to apply methods to different wireless technologies will be outlined.

Wireless surveys fall into two main categories: predictive and manual. These will be explored in detail and methods to determine which type of survey to select will be discussed.

Wireless Survey Techniques

This major section will cover, in detail, the practicalities of carrying out a site survey. The session will cover information required prior to carrying out a survey, which software tools are available and how to use these. The session also covers the contents required in a site survey report and how to deal with issues related to planning permission for outdoor installations
