Students will be shown how to develop and apply an effective wireless network analysis methodology.
The course has a significant amount of detailed engineering information explained as the foundation for understanding the 802.11 protocols and statistics. In addition to radio frequency transmission, the course explains antenna types and related propagation and attenuation issues. Ultimately the control, management and security protocols in 802.11 are analysed with the WildPackets' AiroPeek protocol analyser and specific troubleshooting and analysis methodologies are discussed. Included in the course are the techniques and features for using AiroPeek to perform an RF site survey.
