Text Box: MarQuest have recently landed orders from two major test and measurement organisations for its PRS1 conformance test system.   The Hungarian Communications Authority and KTL test laboratories have ordered two systems for delivery in January 2008. PRS1 is a fully automated test system for evaluation of WAN interfaces against core conformance standards such as ITU-T G.703 and ETSI CTR4. The system automatically controls instruments from leading test manufacturers such as Agilent, Anritsu, JDSU and  LeCroy.  At the heart of PRS1 is the MarQuest PTF1 test fixture which provides interconnection under computer control and contains MarQuest's in-house designed measurement bridges for return loss and impedance balance. PRS1 provides a wide range of tests ranging from electrical pulse shape and return loss through to jitter and framing. All measurements are carried out strictly in accordance with the requirements of the standards and are made to very high precision.  Result history is stored in a database, which includes all measurements taken during each test.  Once a test campaign is completed, an automated  facility produces a complete laboratory-standard report in html format. MarQuest director Peter Quinn said: “Orders from these prestigious organisations validates our commitment to quality and integrity.  PRS1 is an example of how we are able to combine our skills in both electronic and computer engineering disciplines to produce sophisticated and reliable systems for our customers”. Work is well underway on the production of these systems with first deliveries already shipped. It is a busy time for MarQuest, which has several other major projects in the pipeline - including supply of a 10Gbit/s TCP/IP diagnostic test system and an 802.11 wireless-based rapid deployment camera and data system. Marketing director Alistair Meakin comments: "2007 has been a great year for MarQuest, with increased revenues and profits!
